JAMMU, Dec 1: In a joint statement issued by Kashmiri Displaced People’s Wing of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), leaders have demanded immediate working out resettlement/ rehabilitation policy of Kashmiri displaced people back in Valley in consultation with the stakeholders, displaced after 1990.
They further demanded that Government of India (GoI) with and U.T. administration in consultation with stake holders of displaced people, must frame a onetime settlement for rehabilitation back in the Valley in colonies as the 33 years exile is least tolerable now by them and the hollow assurances floated on political platforms has gone in wilderness and are not acceptable now, as this long exile has ruined the displaced people in all respects. They said people hounded out from Valley are leading a refugee life outside their birth place for such a long time , due to utter failure of past and present Governments.
In a joint statement president of displaced wing, Sanjay Dhar, its chairman, Piaray Lal Pandita, general secretary, Raj Kumar Ticku, Daizy Dhar president, Mahila Wing, Naveen Gosani president Youth and other members of the Party also demanded that the displaced community requires to be rehabilitated in one place colony type residential society with its own established infrastructure of living, in each district of Valley where they can maintain their lost culture and ethos and harmonious atmosphere can be restored by guaranteeing Constitutional rights to these people.
They also demanded that the compensation of 33 years loss of property and damaged to immovable property requires to be worked out and paid before return.
