JAMMU, Dec 29: A joint meeting of Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha , Kashmiri Khatri Yuvak Sabha and Displaced Kashmiri Unemployed Youths Union was held at Muthi near here, today under the chairmanship of its president, Er. Ramesh Chander Mahajan in which various issues related to Kashmiri migrants were discussed threadbare.
The meeting demanded economic and political empowerment , social justice and holding of delimitation to give political reservation of five to seven Assembly seats in Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory of J&K for Hindus of Kashmir once for all and one reserved seat each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for them.
Maintaining that present cash doles given to migrants is not sufficient to meet out day to day expenses and other basic necessities like costly medicine and school fees etc, it appealed the Government to enhance the monthly cash relief with free medical aid.
Displaced unemployed youths demanded implementation of PM package in letter and spirit with filling up of all remaining posts.
It demanded creation and reservation of additional 35,000 posts in Government departments and semi Government organisations and public undertaking from Class IV to higher post in the UT of J&K and Central Government Departments in lieu of 25,000 retired posts of migrant employees.
It appealed the Government to release the pending list of migrant youths who had applied for sanctioning of loan under Central skill development programme who have become over aged. Besides, such youth be provided a one time assistance /compensation of Rs 25 lakh.
Relaxation in age be given to every unemployed youth in the recruitment of PM package and one job be given to one family member of each migrant family. Besides, it demanded construction of quarters for the migrant employees in Kashmir Valley.
Those who addressed the meeting included Ravi Tandon, Susheel Chopra, Kamal Krishan Uppal, Anil Chopra, Des Raj Bhasin, Pushker Nath, Krishan Lal, Chabbi Lal Khatri, Sanjeev Chopra, Manoj Kumar Lamba, Sunil Swahney, Raj Kumar Tandon, Om Prakash, Ramesh Kumar Nahjawan, Raj Kumar Khera, Ashok Kumar, Deepak Chopra, A K Bhadwan etc.
