SRINAGAR, June 8: Director of Vigilance, S. Owais Ahmad, today inaugurated record block at Vigilance Hqrs. Peerbagh, meant for safekeeing and preservation of records.
In addition the Director also launched the upgraded software which is in tandem with the latest technology for digitization of vigilance record which will facilitate the detailed information and biodata of various officers figuring adversely in cases/ enquiries. This will also help in speedy disposal of NOC cases and other allied matters.
Besides, separate databanks for Challan record were implemented at branch levels to provide the references relating to under trial cases as and when desired by the courts which will reduce lot of time and labour.
The Director of Vigilance impressed upon his officers that the safe custody of case property and record is very important for larger agenda of prevention and detection of crime.
The brief and simple ceremony was attended by Alok Puri, IGP Vigilance, J.L Sharma, DIG Vigilance, Mohammad Ashraf, Joint Director Prosecution, AIGs and branch SSPs. The modern block was designed to be cost effective and conforming to surrounding environment. The local architect was kept in view in the design of the block.
