JAMMU, July 5: Director ISM (Ayush) J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh along with Assistant Director Ayush, Dr. Rakesh K. Raina; Nodal Officer Ayush, Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal and a team of six Medical Officers from Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu, Reasi, Rajouri and Samba today visited Bharatiya Yog Sanasthan (BYS) here for interaction with senior office bearers of the organization.
BYS team led by its J&K president, Satyapal and comprising BYS patron, Shahikant Batkuliya; secretary, Jia Lal Sharma; vice president, Puran Sharma and organizing secretary, Sunil Sharma interacted with ISM team.
They discussed on how the Department of Ayush and BYS can work together for common good of the society as both have common core areas in terms of promoting good health—both physical and mental.
A handout stated that PM’s vision for Fit India can be harnessed if both the organizations work together and supplement each other’s efforts.
Speaking on the occasion Director Ayush said that he is happy to see that BYS has set up a beautiful Yoga ashram.
He also said that Department of Ayush shall support BYS in its endeavors to spread Yoga and shall also depute health experts for lectures in various camps being conducted by BYS.
Satyapal, president BYS welcomed the ISM team and said that BYS is a non-sectarian, apolitical, social, cultural and non-profit making organization, serving humanity both within and outside India for more than 55 years, now through a network of over 3500 centres.
“Yoga at these centres is taught free of cost daily by expert volunteers of BYS. However, due to ongoing pandemic BYS is conducting regular online classes these days,” he maintained.
