Director, CEO inspect tourist spots in Kathua

KATHUA, Dec 9: Director Tourism & Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority today inspected tourism assets in Kathua.
Director Tourism Jammu, R.K.Verma and Chief Executive Officer,Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority, Dr. Bharat Bhushan today conducted extensive tour of Hiranagar & Kathua & took an assessment of the works undertaken in these areas by the  Tourism Department.
At the outset, the officers insisted Jandi fort near Hiranagar where Tourism Deptt. has restored the Fort to its pristine glory with the help of ASI (Archeological Survey of India). The management of Jandi Fort temple urged Director for the construction of a children’s playway park, leveling of ground, taking over of Police Deptt. Quarters, construction of a public convince and renovation of historic well whose water was used for drinking by the Raja of Jasrota and his family. The Director Tourism assured to take up these works in a phased manner.
The officers insisted Jandi Bagh where the Tourism Deptt. has channelized a river let and gave it a shape of mini lake besides beautification of its banks. The director asked accompanying officials to undertake work of a public convince at the place which is visited by people in large members and held in high esteem.
Thereafter Director Tourism and CEO, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority visited Ujh barrage, where a park constructed by the Tourism Deptt about 15 years ago is in a dilapidated condition. Dr. Bharat Bhushan, apprised Director Tourism that the park spread over as area of over 50 kanals is a good assets which must be re-developed and renovated. He added that this spot used to be an ideal picnic spot for school troups and other and even in this shape, the park experiences flow of 200-300 visitors daily.
