JAMMU, May 16: Director, Command Area Development (CAD) Jammu, Manisha Devi Sharma today appealed the farmers to maintain the field channels so that the efficiency in usage of water should not be reduced and the production and productivity of the crops in the area is protected.
Mrs Sharma inspected the On Farm Development Works executed during the year 2015-16 in Chak Bhagwan, Nandwal, Bhagwana Chak, Dharian, Nikyan, Khour, Muthi-Maira villages of Akhnoor & Khour blocks of district Jammu, where OFD works under various distributaries/ direct outlets has been executed. The beneficiaries and farmers expressed their satisfaction regarding the steps taken by CAD, Jammu and OFD works executed by the executors.
These channels in farmer’s field have decreased the water loss caused due to seepage, the farming is possible at the tail ends now due to the continuous flow of water. Moreover, the disputes of farmers have also been resolved.
The Director had interaction with the large public gathering at Chak Bhagwan, Maira and Nandwal villages.
She also advised the technical staff to put their best efforts to complete all ongoing schemes in stipulated time frame with quality work.
The Director, CAD was accompanied by Project Officer, CAD, Jammu and team of officers of RRD Sub-Division.
