Director Agriculture reviews progress of farmers welfare schemes

JAMMU, Feb 17: Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department Jammu, Inder Jeet chaired a virtual meeting of the officers of the department to review the progress regarding implementation of various farmers’ welfare schemes and programmes.
The physical and financial components under Centrally Sponsored Schemes and CAPEX Budget in all the districts for the financial year 2020-21 were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers to create massive awareness regarding various ongoing farmers’ welfare schemes at grass root level. He took detailed review of status and progress of Atam Nirbhar Bharat, Agri-Infrastructure Development Fund, PM-FME, KCC, PM-KISAN, Formation of FPOs, Formulation of new projects under NABARD, Mushroom, Apiculture, Organic Clusters, Farm Mechanization and registration of farmers on Basmati net besides Geographical Indications.
Regarding PM Formulation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises, CAOs were directed to ensure District Level Committee approval in favour of identified projects immediately for further implementation. Director further impressed upon the officers to upload beneficiary related data under different schemes on relevant DBT portals and instructed for geo-tagging of all assets.
Progress concerning updating of POS machine to 3.1 version, QR code installation and top 20 Urea buyers in the respective districts was also reviewed in the meeting. The Director also received Feedback regarding preparedness of kharif 2021 season.
Director Agriculture stressed to expedite utilization of funds to ensure 100% achievement at the earliest under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and CAPEX Budget 2020-21. He asked officers for strict adherence to quality parameters and Codal formalities while executing all infrastructure development works as per DPRs. He further instructed the Chief Agriculture Officers and Sectoral Heads to closely monitor the execution of these schemes and submit the fund utilization/progress reports periodically.
The meeting was also attended by Joint Director Agriculture (Marketing & Infrastructure), K. K. Sharma, Joint Director (Inputs), B. D. Sharma, Joint Director (Extension), Shahid Iqbal Sheikh, Joint Director (Farms), Rajinder Sharma, Joint Director (Apiculture & Mushroom Development), Manzoor Ahmad Nazki, CAO Kathua, Vijay Upadhay Agronomist (vegetables), J. C. Raina, Agri Chemist, Surishta Devi, DSSO, Iqbal Singh, PPO, Davinder Sharma, Deputy Director (Trainings), Anil Bakshi, ARE, Kuldeep Dhar besides other sectoral heads and senior officers of the department. Chief Agriculture Officers of all districts participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
