Director Agriculture for best, judicious use of funds

SRINAGAR, Sept 6: Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today directed the officers to bridge the gap between the allied wings of the department so that the expenditure of funds under each scheme could be expedited and desired results could be achieved.
Speaking in a meeting to review the progress on the implementation of central flagship programmes at agriculture complex Lalmandi, Director impressed upon the officers to put in all the efforts in right direction which not only will pave way for their speedy and effective implementation but will maximise the reach of all these flagship programmes and schemes.
While reviewing the status of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY), National Food Security Mission (NFSM), Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna (PKVY), and other core schemes being implemented by the department , Andrabi emphasized that the work should be expedited on all the projects so that they could be translated into the socio economic development of farming community. The Director noted with satisfaction the expenditure incurred so far this fiscal and directed for making best and judicious use of the funds in the remaining part of current fiscal.
Stressing on the regular field visits to be conducted by the officers and the teams in their respective sub divisions and zones, he instructed the officers to ensure proper monitoring and execution of different centrally sponsored schemes at all the levels. He stressed for strenuous efforts by the officials for tangible results on ground.
Meanwhile, Director reviewed the status of seed village programme of paddy and maize and the procurement of rabi seeds such as oil seeds, oats etc. He instructed the Joint Director Inputs for timely supply of different inputs to the farmers.
The meeting among others was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Extension M.Iqbal Chowdhary, Joint Director Inputs Deepak Kuchroo, Joint Director Engineering Javed Iqbal Lone, Project coordinator Mushrooms Avinash Peer, and all Chief Agriculture Officers of the Kashmir Division.
