JAMMU, Dec 8: Director, Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM), Dr Mohan Singh visited Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts and took stock of stalled projects, besides functioning of ISM dispensaries.
At Bhaderwah in Doda district, Dr Mohan Singh had a meeting with ADC Bhaderwah Dr Rajinder Khajuria and Tehsildar Bhaderwah Zeeshan Manhas. After elaborated deliberations with them, physical position of the demarcated state land for the establishment of Institute of High Altitude Medicinal Plants was taken over by him. He also got the mutation of the land done through revenue authorities.
In Kishtwar, the Director ISM had detailed meeting with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Angrez Singh and Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Manjeet Singh regarding the road connectivity to the 50 bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital Kishtwar. The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar assured that necessary steps will be taken regarding the matter and funds for the road will be projected under specific plan.
Later, the Director ISM had meeting with all the Medical Officers (MOs) of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts in which various issues including punctuality of the staff, availability of the medicines, proper maintenance of official records, availability of Para Medical and ministerial staff, and immunization facilities in ISM dispensaries were discussed.
Dr Mohan Singh instructed the MOs that the land be identified for the construction of ISM Dispensaries wherever they are housed in rented accommodations. Regarding dispensaries housed in Government accommodation it was instructed that the work of fencing/compound wall/electricity connections/ water connections and setting up of herbal gardens be taken up at the earliest so that these dispensaries be converted into health and wellness centers in the near future.
After threadbare discussions with the MOs, it was assured by the Director ISM that the availability of the Para Medical and ministerial staff in the single handed dispensaries will be taken up with the Administrative department (Health and Medical Education) so that smooth running of these institutions is made possible.
