SAMBA, June 27: Director Industries and Commerce (I&C) Anoo Malhotra today inaugurated an open gymnasium and a library for youth in Panchayat Bagla Suchani in Block Vijaypur.
The inauguration was done during a programme which was attended by Panchayat members and representatives/officers of line departments including Health, School Education, PDD, PHE and Social Welfare.
During the programme, villagers directly interacted with officers of various departments and apprised them of their grievances related to education, power, water, health and other facilities.
M/s Kandari Beverages and M/s Star Tank provided 12 chairs and 3 tables, respectively for the library inaugurated by the Director. The Open Gymnasium was inaugurated at Kho Talab, Panchayat Suchani and the equipments for the facility will be provided by M/s Saraswati Agro.
Earlier, the Director and along with other officers visited Primary Health Centre, where it came to fore that iron tablets are not being provided to the women. The Director took initiative and conducted a special drive through members of industrial association for distributing 20,000 iron tablets among the women in 1st phase.
As a part of the 2-day programme, a drug de-addiction rally was also conducted. It was attended by about 60 children of the area. A nukkad was also staged by Natrang to spread awareness on the menace of drug abuse.
Today being MSME Day, Mohit Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME organized a programme in the Panchayat during which villagers, particularly educated unemployed youth was encouraged to set up small scale industries. During the programme, about 31 people were registered by the MSME department for setting up their own units.
