JAMMU, June 24: Diploma Engineers Association has urged the Principal Secretary, Jal Shakti Department to intervene into the matter as many Junior Engineers (Hyd wing) are being deputed for the REW works which is part of R&B.
In a meeting of the Association held at PHE Complex, BC Road here today under the leadership of Upinder Singh, president, the matter was seriously discussed and it was decided to take up the issue with the Chief Engineer (Hyd) concerned.
During the meeting with the Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti Deptt/ PHE Jammu in presence SE Rural Jammu and Chief Engineer I&FC Jammu, it was agreed upon that JE’s of Hyd Wing can not be spared for REW works keeping in view regulation period and recent floods. Moreover, several JEs are holding 2/3 charges as there is shortage of engineers in the department.
They sought the intervention of Principal Secretary Jal Shakti Department in this matter as REW has become a part of R&B Department and moreover, JEs were already over burdened.
