DODA, May 23: The Thathri-Gandoh road is in dilapidated condition which has irked the thousands of people living in Sub Division Gandoh-Bhallesa.
Thousands of people living in various areas of Sub Division Gandoh Bhallessa and Tehsil Kahara including Kilhotran, Chilly, Manoo, Haddal, Bhargi, Kota, Sinoo, Chancer, Khaljugsar, Soti Changa, Jakyas and Gundoh commute on this road on daily basis from Jammu to Gandoh Bhallesa and its worst condition has irked them.
The locals said that the commuters as well as pedestrians face inconvenience while commuting on Thathri-Gandoh road and the problems increases during inclement weather conditions. During rains, the condition of the road turns into worst from bad, they added.
Due to the dilapidated condition of the road and lack of proper drainage system, the commuters are facing problems while commuting on this road, they lamented. Sometimes the vehicles commuting on this road also suffer damages, the locals informed.
The residents warned to come on road and block the vehicular movement on the Thathri-Gandoh road if blacktopping work is not started by the concerned department as soon as possible.
They appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir GC Murmu and DDC Doda to intervene into the issue and direct the concerned authorities to blacktopping the road in the shortest possible time.
While talking to the EXCELSIOR, the XEN Road and Building Department Gandoh, M K Vikram said that the blacktopping work on Thathri-Gandoh road will start after the culmination of Eid celebrations. The blacktopping work will be completed in stipulated time so that people don’t face problems while commuting, he asserted.
