JAMMU, Nov 16:The dilapidated condition of 4th Bridge Bhagwati Nagar road from Belicharana to Mandal Phallian and adjoining villages including Rambag, Kulliyan, GosainChak etc. has added to woes of common masses in general and vehicle operators in particular.
Sure Chak bridge which is without lights and has no proper macadamized road can prove to be fatal for commuters while plying their vehicles on this bridge.
The locals said Belicharana to Mandal road is in worst condition and has become an accident prone area but to the dismay of the people the authorities have never blacktopped the road since a pretty long time though the Government is making tall claims about the development.
They said even some vehicles suffer damage due to bad condition of road.
The issue has been brought into the notice of concerned authorities many times but they don’t bother to renovate/blacktop the road which has turned into a death trap for people, they said. If the road is not immediately renovated there can be any catastrophe in future and the authorities of concerned Department will be responsible for the same, they added.
The people termed it a criminal negligence of the Department and said that the Department is not bothered for sufferings of the people and damage especially caused to light motor vehicles plying on this busy road.
The people once again urged the authorities to take up the renovation work of the road in hand immediately instead of waiting for a major accident to take place.
