Rekha meets JMC Commissioner, highlights people’s issues

JAMMU, Nov 16: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district president, Jammu South, Rekha Mahajan today called on Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, Executive Engineer, JMC Arun Kumar, Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma, AEE Mechanical, SP Singh, other senior officers and engineers of JMC and apprised them of the problems being faced by the public in Jammu South.
Rekha underlined that during the party “Booth Jan Samvaad” direct relationship with the general populace, public outreach programme it was found that the common masses face many hardships in context with the repair of street lights, sanitation and other related issues.
To review the pace of ongoing development and allied works in Jammu South, the officials informed the Rekha Mahajan of various initiatives taken by Corporation.
BJP district vice president, Karuna Chetri, district secretary, Abhinav Anand, Gandhi Nagar Mandal president, Bharat Bhushan , Mandal vice president, Subash Choudhary accompanied her during the visit.
Rekha highlighted various issues related to common masses. She stressed on time bound completion of the ongoing works to provide better amenities to the people. She said that it’s an urgent need to repair streetlights in different areas and also need the installation of new streetlights in different locations. Rekha prompted the Health Officer for regular fogging and also appealed to the general public to take all the precautionary measures to prevent the threat of Dengue. She asked the concerned officials to spread awareness among the masses regarding the precautions against the fatal disease.
Rekha asked the officials to reach out to the people and take all the requisite measures for the redressal of their grievances. Rekha Mahajan admired the work done by the Department in recent times and asked them to keep up the good work for the advancement of the public at large.
Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav after listening the issues raised by Rekha Mahajan admitted that there is a need to improve many things.
He gave on the spot directions to concerned officers to repair the lights of different areas at earliest in phased manner. He also appealed general public to register the complaints regarding the repair of street lights on the toll-free number 18001803580, so that the officials of JMC can sort out the problems of the general public effectively.
Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma assured to improve the sanitation system including condition of lanes and drains .
