‘Digital India Week’ begins at Deptt of Post

JAMMU, July 1: The Department of Posts, which is organizing “Digital India Week” has embarked upon a major initiative to bring people closer to Post Offices and provide them customer friendly services in Jammu and Kashmir.
The celebrations of ‘Digital India Week” began today with a number of activities including live streaming/TV broadcast of inaugural function of Digital India program by Prime Minister of India organized at Meghdoot Bhawan, Circle Headquarter, all Divisional Headquarters and all CBS Post Offices.
A week long program will be organized by organizing melas in all CBS Post Offices for opening of various accounts, sale of saving certificates, etc.
A special arrangement will be made for school children to visit Gandhi Nagar HO and Kathua HO with the aim to appraise the student about Digital India.
Rattan Lal, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Jammu, VK Chowdhary, Assistant Director, Postal Services, Ishra Ram, Assistant Director Postal Services (Technology) and staff members were present on the occasion.
