AJKAC discusses demands

JAMMU, July 1: Working committee of Jammu Kashmir Chapter of All India Ayurvedic Congress today met under the chairmanship of its State president, Dr B R Sharma.
AJKAC expressed concern over the policy of stagnation and administrative anarchy prevailing in the Directorate of AYUSH and which has failed miserably to satisfy aspirations of Ayurvedic professionals despite separate existence since nearly 28 years.
During last decades long pending problems have multiplied for want of any meaningful and purposeful solution. AJKAC impressed upon State Government to immediately bifurcate present State level Directorate and establish provincial Directorate for Ayurveda and Unani respectively.
It will be worthwhile to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir State Finance Commission constituted for restructuring and eradicating inadequacies in various departments has also recommended that Directorate of AYUSH needs to be bifurcated and separate Directorates may be established for Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Besides general secretary, Dr Dilip Singh Sambyal, Dr H N Patwari, Dr T R Gupta, Dr B D Gupta, Dr O P Gupta, Dr Pawan Sharma and all district presidents participated in the deliberations. Various significant issues concerning AYUSH sector were discussed in detail and various resolutions were passed.
