DIG visits JKAP-8th Bn, holds darbar

JAMMU, Feb 18: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Armed Range Jammu Amit Kumar paid visit to JKAP-8th Battalion Miran Sahib, here.
The officer was received by Shiv Kumar Commandant JKAP-8th Battalion, Sanjay Sharma Deputy Commandant JKAP-8th Battalion and DySPs Bhupinder Kumar, Mansha Beig, Waqar Bhat, Narinder Parihar, Tejinder Singh, Krishan Singh and Ritesh Sambyal.
The officer was appraised about the achievements of the unit.
DIG also held meeting with officers/officials of the unit and listened the issues for their redressal. A meeting with all Coy Commanders was held in the office chamber of Commandant in which security of the Battalion and Coys was reviewed.
The officer was appraised that 8 Coys of this unit have performed their duties at district Kishtwar during law and order situation besides rest of the Coys were deployed in law and order duties in Jammu District, deployed in Traffic City Jammu under the command of SSP Traffic Jammu. Besides GOs/NGO have performed their duties during 15th August and 26th of January and various VVIP duties have been performed by the GOs /NGOs and jawans of the unit.
During Run for Unity Jammu Marathon, the role of JKAP-8th Battalion was appreciated and jawans were rewarded suitably by the senior officers of the department.
The officer was also appraised about various works of J&K Police Public School which were carried out by JKAP-8th Battalion from time to time being nodal agency of the school.
On the occasion, Inter Coy Volleyball Tournament between “Hqr” & “C” coy was also inaugurated by the DIG.
Later, DIG also visited J&K Police Public School Miran Sahib Jammu and discussed some issues with the School Principal.
