DIG Udhampur reviews Katra security arrangements

KATRA, Oct13: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sujit Kumar convened a meeting with police officers at Katra to review the arrangements in view of Navratra festival commencing from October 17.
SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir briefed with a presentation about the arrangements made right from Bhawan to Katra town and its outskirts. Detailed discussion was held to ensure elaborate security arrangements on the eve of Navratra festival. The officers present in the meeting were asked to work in close coordination with other agencies and CPMF etc.
The SSP Reasi and her team must ensure that the COVID-19 protocol is implemented and physical distancing ensured, Kumar said.
He said that the meeting should be held with the organizers/management for better coordination during festival season. It was impressed upon the participants to ensure that nakas deployed around Katra town are fully strengthened to ensure effective checking/frisking round the clock. Joint QRTs of CRPF/Police should be deployed on all entry/exit points to react immediately in case of any exigency.
Those points which are generally uncovered must be sanitized and secured. The whole team visited all the vital locations of Katra town and Bhawan and checked deployment from security point of view.
The meeting amongst others was attended by Rashmi Wazir, SSP Reasi, J K Gupta Commandant 6 CRPF Bn, Major Saurabh Mahajan, Amit Bhasin, Addl. SP Katra, Narendra DyCO CRPF, Kuljeet Singh, SDPO Katra, Mumtaz Ahmed DySP DAR Reasi, Imtiaz Ahmed, SO to DIG, Insp Sunil Sharma SHO PS Katra, Insp Kesar Singh DTI Katra besides representatives of CID, IB, Army, Traffic and other officers.
