JAMMU, Jan 20: In view of the forthcoming Republic Day 2026, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma today conducted a surprise night checking to review the preparedness of security arrangements at MA Stadium and its surrounding areas.
The visit was aimed at ensuring effective implementation of security measures for the smooth and safe conduct of Republic Day celebrations.
During the inspection, the DIG closely examined police nakas, frisking points, deployment of security personnel, traffic management plans and other contingency arrangements put in place for the national event.
He assessed the overall alertness of the force on ground and reviewed coordination among different units.
While interacting with officers and jawans on duty, the DIG briefed them about the nature of their responsibilities and stressed the need for heightened vigilance, alertness and dedication during duty hours.
He directed all personnel to remain proactive and responsive to any situation to ensure foolproof security and public safety during the Republic Day celebrations.
