DIG Jammu donates wheel chairs to physically challenged persons

KATHUA May 25: Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Dy. Inspector General of Police, Jammu Samba Kathua Range today donated 13 wheel chairs to physically challenged persons of district Kathua under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2016-17.
Mr Wani said the main objective of donating wheel chairs to physically challenged persons is to instill confidence among them. Wheel chairs are highly beneficial for the physically challenged persons. It provides a sense of comforts, mobility, independence and freedom and also gain access to the lifestyle which they whished for, he added.
During the function besides, representative of the civil society, Mohd. Suleman Choudhary-, SSP Kathua, Rajnish Pran, SSP SO to DIG JSK Range, Khalil Poswal, ASP Kathua, Shamsher Singh Sambyal, Dy.SP Hqrs, Parul Bhardwaj, Dy.SP DAR and Ravail Singh Choudhary, SDPO Border Kathua were present on the occasion.
DIG Jammu interacted with the beneficiaries and complimented them for coming to DPL Kathua despite constant physical exertion. He also assured them that every help will be provided as and when they required. During function Mr Wani gave Rs.5000 to a girl student namely Kavita Sharma D/o Raj Gopal (SPO) R/o Basohli, Kathua as reward for securing 94.4 % marks in matriculation examination. The Civic Action Programme was followed by Police Public Interface organized by Range Police Hqrs. Jammu at DPL Kathua.
