Srinagar, Feb 4: In its efforts to tackle the crime against women in Kupwara area, Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir, Nitish Kumar today inaugurated a Women Police Cell at DPO Kupwara.
SSP Kupwara Shamsheer Hussain Khan, ASP, Kupwara, Arif Amin Shah, DySP headquarters Fayaz Geelani, DySP DAR, Bashir Ahmad Dar and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
The women police cell, in which only women staff is deputed, is aimed to provide round the clock integrated legal service and assistance to women affected by violence within the family, community or at the workplace. The cell will help in redressing the grievances of women very fast and women will feel free in coming forward to register their grievances or any crime against them.
