DIG inaugurates Mega Disability Board Camp of Sahyog India

JAMMU, Oct 26: With the sole motive to empower the ‘persons with disabilities’ at their threshold by issuing ‘Disability Certificate’- Sahyog India conducted a “Mega Disability Medical Board Camp” at Sub District Hospital Sohanjana in collaboration with Chief Medical Officer’s Jammu office under guidance of Directorate Health Services Jammu.
More than 800 persons with multiple disabilities had come from remote areas of Tawi Island. For the convenience of differently abled persons a team of specialist doctors was constituted and deputed by CMO Jammu which examined the specially challenged persons.
Total 90 disability certificates were prepared and distributed instantly by a team of doctor and technicians comprising of  Dr Vikrant Sharma, Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Rajni Gupta, ENT consultant, Dr S Vikrant Singh, Pediatrician, Dr Inderjeet Singh, Physician Specialist, Dr Arti Khajuria, Ophthalmologist, Mohinder Chandel, Opthalmologist Technician and Bahudar Singh, Senior Pharmacist.
The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General of Police Jammu-Kathua Range, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani. Dr DK Kapoor, Chairman Sahyog India presided over and termed the approach of Sahyog India as need of hour.
Founder Sahyog India Ashwani Jojra said on the occasion that ‘Board Certification’ is a boon for the persons with disabilities to get entitled for all benefits under all schemes of supporting agencies (Government or private). He also urged the DIG to assist these disabled under Civic Action Programme of police.
The dignitaries who dispatched their warm wishes for the success of  camp were Bali Bhagat Minister for Health & Medical Education, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Choudhary Sukhanandan Kumar MLA Marh, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, S Simranjeet Singh, DC Jammu and Dr Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu.
