DIG directs SHOs for strong steps to curb thefts in Jammu

JAMMU, May 11: The Deputy Inspector General of Police Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, along with Deputy Director Prosecution RPHQ Jammu, Parshotam Sharma and SDPO City Jammu West Sughanda Mahajan, held a crime review meeting of Sub Division City West Jammu, which covers the jurisdiction of PS Janipur, PS Bakshi Nagar and PS Nowabad.
All Station House Officers of Sub Division City West Jammu and all investigating officers were present in the meeting.
Investigations of various old pending cases and freshly registered cases were reviewed and necessary guidelines and directions were given on spot for quick disposal of cases on merits. SHOs and investigating officers were told that timely disposal of cases tantamount to timely justice to the aggrieved persons on ground which also improves the image of police in the eyes of public.
The issue of taking strong preventive measures to curb menace thefts in Jammu City was mainly focused and necessary directions were given to SDPO, all SHOs and investigating officers in this regard.
DIG Jammu also directed the SHOs to have a close monitoring over the identified drug peddlers in their respective jurisdictions so as to reach the key players indulging in this trade. They were directed to deal with the drug peddlers with iron hands to curb the menace of drug abuses in the society.
