JAMMU, May 6: DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Ranger Ashkoor Ahmed Wani asked the officers to deal with drug peddlers with iron hands.
He stated this during crime review meeting of Sub Division RS Pura, which was attended by Ramesh Kotwal, SP Headquarters, Jammu, Parshotam Sharma, Deputy Director Prosecution RPHQ Jammu, Harjeet Singh, SDPO RS Pura, SHO RS Pura Harish Damiya, SHO Arnia Inspector Satish Kumar, SHO Miran Sahib SI Hilal Azhar, SHO Bishnah Inspector Paramjit Singh and all Investigating Officers of the Sub Division.
Investigations of various old pending cases as well as freshly registered cases were reviewed and necessary guidelines and directions were given on spot for quick disposal of cases on merits, so that timely justice is delivered to the public on ground to the aggrieved persons.
The issue of drug peddling was forcefully focused and DIG directed Zonal SP, SDPO and all SHOs for taking preventive measures. He also directed them to have a close monitoring over the identified drug peddlers in their respective jurisdiction, so as to reach the key players in this trade.
DIG directed them to deal with the drug peddlers with iron hands in order to curb the menace of drug abuses.
