Different programmes organized on National Unity Day, Vigilance Awareness Week

JAMMU, Oct 31: Different organizations here today several organized programmes on National Unity Day and Vigilance Awareness Week.
The Office of NSS Programme Coordinator in collaboration with Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu (JU), organized ‘Unity Run’ 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of ‘Iron Man of India’- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Over 200 NSS volunteers from JU, Govt College for Women, Parade and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan participated in the run.

Kathua Campus of JU celebrated its maiden National Unity Day on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The celebrations envisaged paying floral tributes to Sardar Patel, pledge taking ceremony and a Run for Unity around the Campus to commemorate the day.
IIM Jammu celebrated ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at its both transit campuses Canal Road and Jallochak. The event was initiated with a floral ceremonial tribute by Prof. B.S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu at Canal Road Campus and Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu at Jallochak Campus. The faculty, staff members and students actively took ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Integrity Pledge’.
NSS SMVDU organized Run for Unity on the occasion of National Unity Day to celebrate the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The Unity run was flagged off by Dean, Faculty of Management, Dr. Suparn Sharma before which all the participants recited ‘Vande Maatram’ and also took Rastriya Ekta pledge.
On National Unity Day, Government Medical College Jammu organized Integrity Pledge ceremony in which Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal and Dean along with all faculty, staff and students of GMC Jammu took the integrity pledge. Dr. Sharma said everyone has to strive to maintain highest level of integrity in the organization and there is zero tolerance for corruption in any organization in the present era.
Commemorating 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dean of Students along with Public Relations and Media Centre, Islamic University of Science and Technology celebrated the National Unity Day by organizing a documentary screening and photo-exhibition on the life and achievements’ of Sardar Patel.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated National Unity Day with patriotic fervour. The event was held to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor of BGSB University paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was instrumental in keeping India united.
National Sanskrit University, Ranbir Campus here celebrated National Unity Day and organized many programmes in this regard under the directions of Prof. Madan Mohan Jha. SDM Jammu North, Dr. Udham Das Sharma was the chief guest on this occasion.
On the occasion of 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, IIT Jammu observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The spirit of unification was celebrated on the campus with fervor, gaiety and observance to honor the indomitable spirit of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Director IIT Jammu, Prof Manoj Singh Gaur and chief guest of the occasion, Commissioner/ Secretary to the Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Sanjeev Verma initiated the flagging off ceremony of the Unity Run in which students of IIT Jammu and IIM Jammu joined to mark the celebrations.

Department of Political Science in collaboration with Department of Physical Education and Sports, Government Degree College, Nubra observed the National Unity Day at the college campus.
Assistant Professor, Political Science, Sabah Sharif, briefed about the relevance of celebrating this day and spoke in detail about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution towards ensuring the unity of the country.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Khaltse sub-division with the Run for Unity and National Unity Pledge events organized at schools and various departmental offices.
At Govt Higher Secondary School, Khaltse, a Run for Unity and pledge ceremony was organized by the Principal, GHSS Khaltse, in which the students and the teaching staff participated.
At Tehsil office, Khaltse National Unity Pledge was administered to all the staff in the presence of Naib Tehsildar, Khaltse, Mohd Yousuf to mark the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
At Community Health Center Khaltse, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was observed to mark the 146th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and a pledge-taking ceremony was organized.

The main function was held at the Armed Police Complex Zewan where DGP J&K, Dilbag Singh who was the chief guest on the occasion took the salute at parade and march-past. The DGP administered oath to the officers and Jawans of Police and CAPFs.

As a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, National Unity Day and observance of vigilance awareness week pledge were celebrated at Security Hqrs J&K, Sidhara Jammu. The function was organized under the aegis of Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, Addl. Director General of Police, Security J&K.
J&K Police observed National Unity Day across Jammu Zone. The main function was held at Gulshan Ground where ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh took salute of the parade and administered oath to the Police officers and Jawans.
Similar functions were organized in all establishments of Police districts of Jammu province and an Ekta Pledge was also taken during to preserve the unity and integrity of the nation.

On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas the officers and personnel took the pledge to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among fellow countrymen.
In Kulgam, the celebration started with ‘Run for Unity’ from DPL to Sangus, Kulgam followed by a Pledge taking ceremony in which all the officers/officials of DPL and school students pledged to preserve the unity and Integrity of the Nation and dedicate themselves for the country.
In Awantipora, the main function of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade was held at DPL Awantipora where SSP Awantipora Mohd Yousif took the salute of Parade and read out the pledge.
In Pulwama, the function was held at DPO, DPL Pulwama and all Police Stations of the district where the contingents of J&K Police/Armed Police & Home Guard took the pledge for unity, integrity and security of the Nation. SSP Pulwama Gh Jeelani Wani administered the pledge to the Police Officers/Officials.
In Baramulla, an impressive parade by the contingents of District Executive Police was conducted.
In Sopore, the main function was held at District Police Lines Sopore in which all the participants present pledged to preserve the unity and Integrity of the Nation & promised to strengthen & preserve the National Integration and dedicate themselves for the country.
In Handwara, Police celebrated National Unity Day and the main function was held at DPL Handwara where SP Handwara, Sheema Nabi took the salute of the parade and administered pledge to the police officers, officers of various CAPFs and jawans.
In Bandipora, Police celebrated National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
In Budgam, Police celebrated National Unity Day at all police establishments of the district.
At RPHQ Anantnag, ‘National Unity Day’ and ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ were celebrated by RPHQ Staff Anantnag within the lawns of office Complex.
At ZPHQ, Kashmir programmes on ‘National Unity Day’ and Vigilance Awareness Week were organized by ZPHQ Staff. The pledge was administered by Dy SP Nisar Ahmad Masoodi to the participants.
In Ganderbal, Police celebrated National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) across the District. The main function was held at DPL Ganderbal in which SSP Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar took the salute of the parade and administered pledge to the police officers and Jawans.
In Srinagar, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was administered in all the units of Srinagar police under supervision of respective unit heads.
In Kupwara, SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas administered Unity pledge to all ranks of district police Kupwara.
In Kishtwar, ‘Rastriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) was celebrated at District Police Lines (DPL) Kishtwar. SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt took salute on parade and administered the pledge.
Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau is observing Vigilance Awareness Week. This year, Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 31st October to 6th November, 2022 with the theme “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”.
CRPF Group Centre Jammu organized Unity Run on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur organized Unity Runs across the district to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. At Udhampur, the Unity Run was flagged off jointly by SSP Udhampur Vinod Kumar and ADC Udhampur Mohd. Syed Khan.
NHPC Dulhasti Power Station celebrated the National Unity Day. M.K Kashyap, Group General Manager, HoP Dulhasti Power Station administered the Unity Pledge to the officers.
