Diarrhoea cases register decline

MENDHAR, May 29: A decline in the diarrohea cases has been registered in the Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch while Army organised an awareness programme at local Govt Higher Secondary school here today.
Block Medical Officer (BMO)  Mendhar, Dr Zulfkar said that against the 50 to 60 cases being reported in the area during the past some days, just 27 cases were reported to the Sub District Hospital today. He said on Sunday thirty such cases were reported.
The BMO further said that with the improvement in water supply position  and awareness among the people    some improvement in the situation has been witnessed.  He said that in view of shortage of drip sets and fluids more requisition  has been sent to the CMO Poonch and Director Health Services Jammu which is yet awaited.
Meanwhile,  local Army united (37 RR) today organised an awareness campaign at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Mendhar.  The team of Medical officers educated the students about use of clear and hygienic water and how to fight against the epidemic spread in the area.  The Army Medical  team also educated the students about first-aid against various ailments. Besides Commanding Officer, Col Ramneek Singh, SDM mendhar Rahul Yadav and BMO Mendhar also attended the programme.
