Dhoni, Rahul power India to post 359 runs against Bangladesh

CARDIFF: Riding on Lokesh Rahul 108 runs off 99 balls and former skipper MS Dhoni 113 runs off 78 balls powered Men in blue to post a  mammoth total  of 359/7 in the warm-up match here against Bangladesh on Tuesday.

After being 102/4 at the end of the 22nd over, they finished with a massive 359/7. Both Rahul and  Dhoni took on Bangladeshi bowlers and hit them to all parts of the park and ensured that India end up with a really strong total on the board.

Put into bat, Indian team got a shock when Shikhar Dhawan walked back to the pavilion in the second over just scoring five runs. He was LBW by Mustafizur Rahman.

However, Rohit Sharma stitched a 45 runs partnership with Skipper Virat Kohli for the second wicket and help India to reach 50 runs mark. Buit this partnership couldn’t continue for a long and Bangladesh got a chance to celebrate as they dismissed Rohit on a score of 19 runs off 42 balls. Rohit journey was brought to an end by Rubel Hossain, who bowled a short length ball outside off, Rohit played a lazy pull but the ball does not bounced as much as he expected and the ball went off the under edge and onto the stumps. Rohit left Indian team on a score 50/3 in 13.3 overs

Kolhi too played well and added 33 runs with Lokesh Rahul for the third wicket. Kolhi scored 47 runs off 46 balls with the help of five fours. (AGENCIES)
