JAMMU, Jan 10: Digiana Highway Market Association (DHMA) here today staged a protest demonstration against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and traffic official for allegedly destroying private property ‘in the name of anti-encroachment drive.’
A handout stated that the protest was led by Deepak Gupta, a local leader.
The protesters alleged that people were not given any prior notice by the authorities before demolition so that they could have given fines for encroachment and removed illegal structure within time.
The handout claimed that the locals have drafted a charter of demands to be given to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu demanding compensation for the loss incurred.
