Dharna of Granthis, Ragis enter 16th day

JAMMU, May 31: Protest dharna of the members of  Shiromani Gurmat Granthi Ragi Sabha (J&K) who are sitting in front of Nanak Nagar  Gurudwara has entered 16th consecutive day.
The Ragis and Granthis of  various Gurdwaras,  governed by the District Gurdwara Parbadhak Committees/ SGPB are demanding enhancement of their wages from Rs 3000 & 5000 to  Rs 8000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. They also  demanding insurance cover  and deduction of Employees’ Provident Fund. They said that it was very difficult for them to run the livelihood and support of their children during these hard times.
Meanwhile, as pr claim of the DGPC Jammu, a team of  religious persons which arrived her from Amritsar to call off strike and discuss the issue has failed in its task. They even failed to provide their identity or any authorization letter from Shri Akal Takhat Sahib.
