JAMMU, May 1: Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust today organised a “pooja” and “hawan” to mark the Bagalamukhi Jayanti at Natraj temple in the premises of Raghunathji temple here.
Priests of Raghunathji temple participated in the “Hawan” organized on the occasion followed by Aarti in the temple of Mata Bagalamukhiji abiding by guidelines of the lockdown. They also chanted Vedic mantras for divine protection from COVID-19.
Pertinent to mention here that Bagalamukhi is one of the ten Mahavidyas (great wisdom Goddesses) in Hinduism. Bagalamukhi Devi smashes the devotees’ misconceptions and delusions (or the devotee’s enemies) with her cudgel. She is also known as Pitambara.
Chairman trustee, Dr Karan Singh, in his message expressed greetings to the people of J&K on the occasion of Bagalamukhi Jayanti and prayed for peace, prosperity and well being of all.
Dr Singh also prayed for early passage of chronicle disease Covid-19 and appealed people to remain careful and observe social distancing and other guidelines issued by the authorities in letter and spirit. “The people in J&K followed the guidelines religiously and that is the reason Jammu is presently COVID-19 free district, ” he said.
He asked people to continue with the efforts to combat coronavirus without any lethargy and anticipated that soon the normalcy shall be restored in all the regions of the country.
