JAMMU, Oct 21: Dhanwantri Jayanti was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety.
Dhanwantri Jayanti was celebrated at Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu under the guidance of Director General Indian Systems of Medicine J&K. Hawan and poojan was performed in the hospital premises with great fervor and gaiety. Large number of Medical and Para Medical staff and persons from various social organizations also participated in the celebration. The Director General Dr Abdul Kabir Dar inaugurated the newly constructed AYUSH OPD complex and the foot over bridge connecting Government Ayurvedic Hospital with Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine, Jammu. The function was attended by Deputy Director, ISM, Jammu, Assistant Controller of Stores, Jammu, All Assistant District Medical Officers, Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers and Para Medical Staff of different Districts. The function was also attended by various retired officers and officials of the department.
All Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress celebrated traditional Dhanwantri Jayanti, which was attended by large number of Ayurvedic professional and citizens. On the occasion, a hawan was organized followed by Dhanwantri Vandana to offer respect to God of Ayurveda. Dr TR Gupta, presented the welcome address, while Dr HN Patwari spoke about life and contribution of Dhanwantri. Vikram Gour, patron of Ayurvedic Society for Health Awareness was also present. In the end, Dr Satya Gupta presented vote of thanks.
Indigenous Medicines Organization (IMO) organized a function to commemorate the Jayanti of Lord Dhanwantri, the creator of Ayurvedic system of medicine. On the occasion, Dr KK Gandotra, president IMO and Former Deputy Director ISM paid tributes to Lord Dhanwantri along with Dr Mahesh Sharma, general secretary, IMO, Dr Ashok Sharma, Dr Som Dutt, Dr Vinod Sharma, etc.
