Dhaba owner arrested with illicit liquor

JAMMU, May 30: Chatha police nabbed a dhaba owner along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chatha police post laid a naka on SKUAST Road and signaled an auto to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
During checking, police recovered 60 pouches of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who also runs a dhaba at Chatha Farm.
The accused has been identified as Amrik Singh, son of Mahan Singh, a resident of Chatha.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for selling among the people visiting his dhaba for illegitimate profits.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Satwari police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Chatha police post SI Krishan Raina made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP City South Shaazad Salaria.
