DGP visits south Kashmir, reviews security situation

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Friday reviewed the security situation in twin south Kashmir districts of Shopian and Pulwama.

The review meeting holds significance as it comes just a day after five militants, two civilians and as many Army jawans were killed in two separate encounters in Shopian and Pulwama.

A police spokesperson said that Mr Singh along with IGP Kashmir S P Pani visited twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama. “The DGP chaired the officers meetings at both the district headquarters which were attended by the concerned district SSP along with other jurisdictional officers,” he said.
