DGP sanctions welfare relief, loan, financial assistance

SRINAGAR, Sept 25: In continuation to series of welfare measures for NoKs of martyr, deceased police personnel and SPOs, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare relief and financial assistance of Rs 80.5 lakh.
Welfare relief has also been granted in favour of five NoKs of deceased police personnel and SPOs. He also sanctioned welfare loan of over Rs 12 lakh in favour of seven police personnel to meet the expenses in connection with their treatment.
Welfare relief of Rs 70 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of three police personnel and two SPOs. This amount includes Rs 20 lakh each in favour of NoKs of deceased police personnel and Rs 5 lakh each in favour of NoKs of deceased SPOs. Rupees one lakh each for police personnel and rupees fifty thousand each for SPOs out of this relief was given as advance for performing the last rites of the deceased.
Supporting the families of martyrs by providing financial assistance in connection with their different requirements Rs 50,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents of three martyrs.
Similarly Rs 12.75 lakh has been sanctioned as welfare loan and relief in favour of seven police personnel to meet the expenses in connection with their self treatment. The loan amount ranges from rupees one lakh to rupees three lakh. The amount sanctioned was provided out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
