DGP sanctions welfare loan of Rs 91.50 lakh

JAMMU, Mar 25: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 91.50 lakh as welfare loan in favour of the serving police personnel. He has also sanctioned Rs 88 lakh as Special Welfare Relief in favour of four deceased police personnel.
A press statement said that a welfare loan of Rs 1.5 lakh each was sanctioned in favour of 24 serving personnel for the marriage of their wards and Rs 1 lakh each in favour of 39 personnel for their marriage.
It further said that Rs 1.5 lakh each was also sanctioned in favour of 10 personnel for education of their wards besides Rs 1 lakh in favour of one ward of serving police personnel for his higher education.
“Rs 50000 each has also been sanctioned in favour of two personnel for performing social obligations,” it said.
Pertinently, the welfare loan is sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Meanwhile, the DGP has also sanctioned Special Welfare Relief of Rs 22 lakh each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of four deceased officers/officials including Director Prosecution Sikandar Mohan, ASI Nago Ram, HC Rajinder Singh and Selection Grade Constable Sajad Hussain, who passed away due to illness.
