DGP sanctions special welfare, ex-gratia relief

JAMMU, Nov 15: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of martyred and deceased police personnel, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 2.78 crore ex-gratia and special welfare relief for NoKs of martyred and deceased police personnel.
Rupees 38 lakh ex-gratia relief has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of martyred Police Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad Dar. Rs 20 lakh special welfare relief has also been sanctioned in favour of the NoKs of the said martyred Inspector.
The DGP has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh each in favour dependents and legal heirs of deceased police personnel ASI Noor Alam, ASI Mohammad Younis, ASI Joginder Singh, HC (P) Naseer Ahmad, HC Gurmeet Singh, SgCt Mohammad Maqbool, SgCt Mohammad Maroof, Ct Bilal Ahmad, Foll Ashok Kumar, Foll Rajinder Kour, Foll. Ved Parkesh and Foll Bilal Ahmad,. These personnel have passed away while in service.
Meanwhile, the DGP has also sanctioned Rs 25,000 each in favour of two SPOs who were injured in terror related incidents. Similarly, Rs 10,000 has been sanctioned in favour of a constable and Rs 5,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of three police personnel who were injured during performance of their duties. The amount has been sanctioned as a welfare relief from the Central Police welfare fund.
