DGP sanctions scholarship for meritorious wards of serving cops

SRINAGAR, Sept 28: Under the initiative of Police Headquarters to provide financial assistance to the wards of police personnel excelling in academics, the Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarship in favour of 202 wards of serving police personnel.
Under this order, the Director-General of Police has sanctioned over rupees 13.47 lakh in favour of 202 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80 percent and above marks in the Annual examination of Class 12th during the Academic Session 2020-21 out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 113 students who have secured more than 90 percent marks and eighty-five other who have secured 80 percent and above marks.
During the current year till date, over rupees 1.21 crores have been sanctioned in favour of 2120 wards of Police personnel who have achieved above 80 percent marks in the Annual Examination of Class 10th, 12th and Graduation for the academic session 2020-21.
