DGP sanctions scholarship, decorates newly promoted officials

JAMMU, Nov 29: Continuing its endeavour to financially support the wards of martyred and deceased police personnel in pursuing education, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned scholarship of Rs 2.45 lakh in favour of wards of deceased police personnel.
The scholarship has been sanctioned in favour of 49 wards of deceased police personnel who passed away while in service due to natural and accidental deaths. The scholarship of Rs 5000 each has been sanctioned in favour of nine wards studying in primary classes, 10 wards studying in middle classes, 14 wards studying in higher secondary classes, 12 wards studying in senior secondary classes and four wards who are pursuing graduation for the academic year 2020-21. The scholarship has been granted out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Meanwhile, DGP also decorated two newly promoted officials of Police Headquarters with Assistant Sub Inspector rank at a simple pipping ceremony held here.
The promoted officials are Vinay Dutta and Rajinder Kumar. AIG (P) of PHQ Ramesh Angral was present on the occasion.
The DGP advised the officials to work hard and always come up to the expectation of people. He wished best of luck to the promotees and extended his warm greetings to their families as well.
