DGP sanctions financial assistance

SRINAGAR, Sept 21: As part of welfare measures and to assist financially the NoKs of martyr police personnel including SPOs who had laid down their lives in terrorist related incidents during the period September 2020 to August 2021, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 1.50 lakh in favour of NoK’s of such 15 police personnel and SPOs. He has also sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 3.25 lakh in favour of retired and NoKs of deceased police personnel.
Financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of martyrs Inspectors Mohd Ashraf and Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, SgCts Manzoor Ahmad, and Mohd Yousf, Cts. Altaf Hussain, Ashfaq Ahmad, Suhail Mushtaq, Rameez Raja, Showkat Ahmad, Waseem Ahmad, Javid Hussain, and Nissar Ahmad, SPOs Mohd Altaf, Shafat Nazir Khan and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat. The amount has been given out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.
The amount will be presented to them on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, being observed on 21st October 2021.
Meanwhile, a welfare relief of Rs 3.25 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of thirteen retired and NoKs of deceased police personnel for the purpose of self treatment or to meet their urgent financial needs. The relief amount ranges between rupees fifteen thousands to rupees fifty thousand and has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
