DGP reviews security preparedness for LS polls

DODA, Apr 12: To review security preparedness for Parliamentary elections to be held in the district on April 17, Director General of Police Ashok Parsad today convened a meeting with district administration.
Inspector General of Police, Jammu Range Rajesh Kumar, District Election Officer (Deputy commissioner), Doda, Mubarak Singh, Deputy Inspector General, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Superintendent of Police Doda M.S Chouhan, Nodal officers, Officers of CRPF, SSB among others were also present in the meeting.
The DEO presented a detailed  account of the District Election profile informing that the district has four Assembly constituencies, two fully and two partly i.e 53-Doda and 54-Bhaderwah (fully) and 52-Inderwal and 55-Ramban partly with 327 Polling Stations comprising 241 sensitive and 86 normal polling stations.
The DGP directed the district police to maintain close coordination among all concerned security agencies and other departments involved in election process.
Earlier, SP Doda briefed the participants about the security situation in the district. He also informed that polling stations without mobile phone facilities have been identified and arrangements are made well in advance for providing them wireless sets, which has been reflected in communication plan of the district for better and timely communication with the district headquarter.
