DGP inspects border police posts

JAMMU, Apr 6: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar today had an extensive tour of border areas in districts of Kathua and Samba. He assessed the security situation and interacted with the police personnel deployed in these areas.
Mr. Rajendra, accompanied by IGP, Jammu Zone, Danish Rana took stock of the pace of progress made on erecting of pre-fabricated Naka Bunkers on the National Highway and border link roads. He was told that twelve bunkers have been erected on the roads to establish Nakas in these areas for maintaining security.
DGP while interacting with the police personnel asked them to synergize their efforts and fully ensure the security and safety of the public. He said that safety of the people is our prime duty and every effort should be made to thwart the ill designs of anti-social elements.
Mr. Rajendra had a meeting with the officers of twin districts at Kathua and directed the participants to make innovative efforts to ensure security, law & order during the Navratra festival and coming Shri Amar Nath Yatra. He said that synergy among the forces and intelligence agencies needs to be achieved to get desired results of the measures adopted.
During the meeting, SSP Kathua, Neeva Jain and SSP Samba Joginder Singh briefed the DGP about the overall security scenario and law and order situation in these areas. They also apprised the DGP about the arrangements put in place for the Navratra and Shri Amar Nath Yatra and about the steps taken for bringing improvement in the functioning of border police posts.
