DGP grants over Rs 2 cr for welfare of policemen

JAMMU, Oct 12: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today sanctioned over two crore rupees as welfare loan and relief in favour of 211 police personnel.
The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund vide Police Headquarters’ order number 3824 of 2019. Under this order an amount of Rs 31 lakh as welfare loan has been sanctioned in favour of 28 police personnel to meet their medical expenses.
While Rs 1.35 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of eight police personnel as welfare relief to meet their medical expenses, Rs 1.59 crore has been sanctioned as welfare loan in favour of 159 police personnel for self marriage, marriage of wards.
Meanwhile, under the same order Rs one lakh each as welfare loan has been sanctioned in favour of 13 policemen whose wards are pursuing different professional degree courses.
