JAMMU, Feb 17: The Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh and Chairperson, Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), Dr Rubinder Kaur today chaired a meeting of the police officers here to review the final arrangements for the 33rd Police Public Mela (PPM) to be held at Gulshan Ground Jammu on February 19.
As per a statement, the meeting was attended by Commandant General HG/CD/SDRF, J&K, B Srinivas; Special DG Crime, J&K, AK Choudhary; ADsGP SJM Gillani, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, Mukesh Singh, MK Sinha Danesh Rana among other police officers.
Addressing the meeting, the DGP directed the officers to ensure all the devised plans are executed perfectly to ensure a successful mela.
He directed for taking special care of aged citizens.
The top cop said that the event is largely public-centric and stressed for extending all the possible assistance and help to the public visiting the mela.
He further directed for utilizing the services of the CCTV cameras besides capturing the highlights of the event. He also directed for ensuring sufficient availability of the drinking water, medicare service and other basis arrangements besides ensuring continuous cleanliness during the day at the venue.
Later, the DGP along with the senior officers and senior PWWA members took a round of the venue and inspected all the stalls besides taking first hand appraisal of other measures being taken for the mela.
Chairperson PWWA also expressed her satisfaction regarding the arrangements and said that every officer should contribute for smooth conduct of the mela.
