JAMMU, Feb 23: The Police Establishment Board (PEB) meeting, chaired by Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, discussed the role of personnel and SPOs on various fronts across the UT.
As per a statement, the meeting was attended by Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF, J&K, Dr B Srinivas, Special DGs, RR Swain, AK Choudhary, ADGsP, SJM Gillani, Dr S D Singh Jamwal, Mukesh Singh, M K Sinha, Danesh Rana besides other senior police officers.
The press statement said that the meeting took several decisions with regard to personnel and SPOs’ conversion and out-of-turn promotions.
It said that cases were reviewed by the concerned for re-examination.
A number of cases were discussed for out-of-turn promotions/conversion and medals in different ranks, and most of the personnel recommended for out-of-turn promotions/conversions and medals were approved. The discussion also included out-of-turn promotion for personnel who represent JKP in different sports categories.
The DGP directed the officers to personally look into the citations and recommendations for medals, out-of-turn promotions, and conversion so that deserving personnel are duly rewarded as per their role and contribution.
“The recommendations must be performance-based, and due weightage must be given to the circumstances, topography, and difficulty faced by the personnel. Only those personnel who contributed to the professional work should be rewarded,” directed the DGP.
The participating officers submitted suggestions which were discussed, and the DGP directed for following them on merit and as quickly as possible. The AIG (Personnel) PHQ conducted the proceedings of the meeting and presented the backgrounds of each agenda item. ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar attended the meeting via video conferencing.
