DGP assures all help in upgradation of police infrastructure

SRINAGAR, Sept 7: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh today visited Ladakh Division and held meetings with civil society, Counsellors, police officers and jawans.
DGP accompanied by ADGP (Hqrs) PHQ AG Mir, DIG CKR VK Birdhi first visited Kargil. He was received by SSP Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar. On his arrival the DGP was given a ceremonial Guard of Honour.
DGP addressed respectable and other civil society members of the Kargil. During the meeting, DGP said that Kargil is an example of patriotism and peace loving for the rest of the country and impressed upon the respectable to further strengthen the spirit of harmony among the people.
DGP said that he is personally inspired by the rich values of the region and has visited Kargil four times after taking charge as State DGP. He said that J&K Police is continuously working for the welfare of the people.
The meeting with the civil society at Kargil was also attended by 121 Brigade Commander Manraj Mann, SSP Kargil, CO Benam Tosh, Tehsildar and all the jurisdictional officers.
DGP said that he has directed the police units that all the necessary help must be provided to the people whenever they need. He said that the police has to enhance its cooperation by redressing the grievances of the people. Some civil society members put forward certain demands which DGP J&K said that will be taken up with the government at appropriate levels for redressal.
Later, DGP reached Leh and had a meeting with the Chief Executive Counsellor Gyal P Wangyal and other Counsellors of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council.
During meeting, the CEC and other Counsellors brought some issues in the notice of DGP.
DGP said that all their demands including the upgradation of police posts and infrastructure will be looked into. Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya was also present during the meeting.
DGP along with the officers visited Phayang and inspected the land earmarked for IR 25. He directed the officers to make the plans in conformity with the local climate and buildings keeping in view the local architecture. He directed for speedy implementation of the plans in this regard.
DGP also held interaction with the police officers and personnel. He impressed upon the jurisdictional police officers to tighten the noose on the criminals. He said that all the preventive measures must be taken to keep the crime of the under check. DGP also reviewed the security scenario of these areas with the concerned officers.
