JAMMU, Sept 6: Workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DF&SS) led by its president, Ashok Gupta here today took out a protest rally against poor water supply in Bari Brahmna area.
Carrying empty buckets the protesters claimed no water supply in Badhori area of Bari Brahmna for the last eight days and no water supply in areas of Jammu urban in last two days because the supply station could not pump-out any water due to non-availability of electricity.
Addressing protesters Ashok Gupta said that in Srinagar area all water pumping stations have generators for backup when there is no electricity but in Jammu the pumping stations are without any backup which leaves the people of Jammu to suffer.
He also said that with the rise in temperature in Jammu, power and water supply seems to have vanished away.
The Shiv Sena leader claimed that in a telephonic conversation with Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department has ensured water supply soon.
Veena, Ratno, Pushpa, Devo, Amroh, Rajni, Neelam, Sonia, Bantu, Kalu, Naresh and many others were present in the protest.
