JAMMU, Mar 19: Continuing with its endeavor to stop further use of recently banned FDCs (Fixed Dose Combinations), the Inspectorate Staff of Drugs & Food Control Organization conducted inspections in various areas of Jammu and Samba District
During the drive, a total of 124 Establishments were checked by the Enforcement Staff and various brands of banned FDCs were identified viz Grilinctus, Sinarest, Tossex, Corex Dx, Tripride, Tribet, Gluconorm-G, Kofarest, Gemer, Glimaday, Trigem, Ascoril Zifi AZ, Pioglit, Zedex, Ceftas AZ, Rabium XL, Zedex and Aziwok. During inspections, instructions were issued to the Licensees to stop further sale of FDCs forthwith and ensure product recall from peripheral outlets.
Drugs worth Rs 2.56 crore were returned to the principle vendors with the directions to submit credit invoices and transport receipts suggesting their return to the original manufacturers.
Meanwhile, a meeting of representative of Jammu & Kashmir Chemists Druggist Association (JKCDA) and empowered authorities was held in the office chamber of Deputy Controller, DFCO Jammu, during which consolidated notification issued by the Central Government was provided to the representatives with the directions to get the same circulated to all the members of Association.
It was impressed upon the representatives that in case of any willful omission on the part of any member of the trade with respect to sale of banned FDCs, the department shall initiate strict action as provided under law against such defaulters.
Meanwhile, Lotika Khajuria, Controller, DFCO, J&K, has also directed the trade members to adhere to the provisions of Drug laws in letter and spirit.
