JAMMU, June 10: Jammu and Kashmir Shiv Sena & Dogra Front led by Ashok Gupta staged a protest demonstration and asked the Central Govt to make Jammu a separate state, here today.
They were shouting slogans by holding tricolour and demanded that Jammu be delinked from Kashmir.
Ashok Gupta said that Jammu is being neglected and we are being made hostage to the Kashmir issue. Why should Jammu suffer for the sins of Kashmir? If there is a Kashmir problem deal with it separately and give statehood to Jammu.
He demanded that Kashmir should be further bifurcated into two UTs with one specially carved out for the Kashmiri Pandits, who migrated from the Valley after eruption of militancy in 1990s. “Jammu is a peaceful region and has rejected militancy, therefore the Centre should separate it from Kashmir and grant it statehood,” he demanded.
The party workers who were present during the protest include Abhishek, Birbal, Sushil, Brij, Lovely, Prem, Rampal, Kalu, Vinay, Nanki and Gulshan.
