Dewan inspects proposed site for light and sound system, reviews developmental works

KATRA, Mar 27: Advisor to Governor, Parvez Dewan, today visited Shalimar and Railway Station parks to finalize the site for installation of proposed light and sound system at Katra.
The Advisor said that the basic concept behind this effort is to present a lively picture of Goddess Vaishnodevi for the devotees who throng the Shrine from different parts of the country every year. He said that best expertise of the country would be sought and utilized for its conceptualization and thus materialization.
Meanwhile, the Advisor inspected the Sub District Hospital and assessed the diagnostic and treatment facilities being made available to the patients there. He reviewed the progress on upgradation works being executed in mortuary, staff quarters and related facilities.
Accompanied by officials of different departments, heads and representatives of various tourism related organizations and local people, the Advisor inspected various roads of the town and discussed in detail the measures need to be taken up for proper maintenance and upgradation of these vital public utilities. He also took stock of drainage problem in the town and suggested several measures for improving the same.
He directed the concerned officers for further boosting activities of Tourism Department in potential tourist destinations around Katra like Shiv Khori, Siar Baba, Sulla Park, Dhansar, Nau Devian, Devi Ki Pendian so as to attract heavy tourist influx to these spots.
