Development of rural areas Govt’s priority: Sukhnandan

JAMMU, Dec 27: The BJP-PDP Coalition Government is committed for overall development of the State and special attention is being given to rural and unreached parts of the State.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sukhnandan Kumar said this while addressing a public meeting at Ghajansoo in Marh block today.
A large number of people from Marh and its adjoining villages participated in the meeting and raised their issues related to water supply, power supply and road connectivity.
Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister for Transport Abdul Ghani Kohli, MLA Jammu West and BJP State Party President Sat Paul Sharma, MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, MLA Suchetgarh Sham Choudhary, MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Kumar and MLC Ashok Khajuria were present in the meeting.
On the occasion, the villagers demanded two SRTC buses for Ghajansoo besides extension of road from Samgrampur to Ghajansoo upto Lahori Chak.
While addressing the gathering, Sukhnandan said the construction work of road from Samgrampur to Ghajansoo would be completed soon and the demand of people for its extension would be taken into consideration. The construction work of three new roads would be started under NABARD and a bridge would also be constructed from Bhagatpur to Sohanjana in the coming days, he added.
MP Jugal Kishore called upon people to take optimum benefit of state and Centrally sponsored schemes including Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Ladli Beti Scheme and MUDRA bank which are being started for uplifting the living standards of poor and needy in the state.
While addressing the gathering, Minister for Transport Abdul Ghani Kohli assured the people that their demands would be fulfilled in a stipulated time frame. The aim of State Government is to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state and top priority is being given to road connectivity, transport, power and water supply.
MLA Sat Sharma said the development works have picked up pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is reaping good benefits as more than 19 crore bank accounts have been opened under the mission and more than Rs 26,000 crore have been deposited in the banks which would help the poor people in the hour of need.
